Let's talk about shared space...

I would like to challenge everyones views on shared studio space. What do you think about open studios? Why do you feel you need a private studio vs. sharing a huge open space? Please discuss!

Just stumbled upon this, a little late, and am very intrigued by the idea. The shared space idea is great and I see myself participating.
The only real concern is about hours of operation. If the space is inaccessible after 8pm then my membership really only gives me a few hours each weekday, but if there was some way to balance late hours with security (I'm imagining that the hours are because there will be staffing of some sort?) then this will be a very attractive way to do my work and interact with others in the community.

Shared Space

I am an artist in every aspect of the word, i could talk about art endlessly, maybe you can find some of my blogs, but right now lets talk about shared space open studio. Is the idea not new, fresh, original, curious, objective, hesitant, bold, is that not what art is itself? I say it is. there are no bounderies with art, only as far as the mind can reach.

the idea

If you were able to join with an Open Studio Membership for $99/mo and use all open studio spaces (over 3500 sq.ft.) plus have the option to rent a locker to hold your belongings (tools, art projects, stuff) OR a closet sized storage unit that you can access 24/7, what would be the disadvantage?

i think this whole idea is enthrawling (awesome),

i think thats the right terminology. the only disadvantage for my project i'm working on is i need like a biggggg closet space for storage, like walk in size or small room. like at least 8 ft. by 8 ft. But i like the sound of shared space.
