Call for Artists: Not with a BANG but with an SUV (2008-09-22 - 2008-10-04)

The North Okanagan Artists Alternative is calling for environmentally minded artists, writers and performers to take part in an exhibition to be held at Gallery Vertigo from October 7th to November 1st, 2008. "This is the way the world ends, not with a bang, but a whimper."(Eliot)
How will the world end? According to T.S. Eliot, it will end with a whimper, and not a cataclysmic event.
This NOAA Annual Members themed exhibition invites members think about this idea and to create works that address such environmental issues as air pollution, water and soil degradation, pesticide use, rampant urban sprawl, public transportation, abuse of fossil fuels, food hybridization, loss of wildlife habitat, animal extinction, etc. This is a chance for visual artists, musicians, actors, writers and caring citizens to express their concerns and raise awareness in creative fashion.
