Our Mission: The Warehouse Studios, Inc. is a Non-Profit arts organization in Columbia, MO. focused on providing artists, musicians, and the community with affordable art and music studios, workshops, and classes. We will strive to provide an inspiring atmosphere to create art in, and nurture sustainability in the arts through programs and marketing.

Stage 1: Private Studios will be available throughout The Wright Brothers Mule Barn (the historic building that will house art studios, music studio, galleries, retail shops, live/work loft apartments, and more adjacent to the District, downtown Columbia, MO). Private art studios ranging from 150 sq.ft. to 1000's of sq. ft. in early 2008. We have very few private art studios available within The Warehouse Studios, but the rest of the building is available for studio use as well. Are you open-minded and like open spaces? Consider our Open Studio option.

Stage 2: Open Studio Memberships will begin at $99/mo and will allow a person to use any open spaces in The Warehouse Studios during open studio hours. Open studio members will only be able to leave their personal tools, instruments, art, or other items on the premises if they rent a locker and/or storage unit. Musicians and Artists will also have the option to rent private classroom studios to teach art or music classes, or to have band practice. Just rent a storage unit in The Warehouse Studios to keep your equipment nearby.

Stage 3: Open Houses and Community Workshops
Before we open our doors to the public, we will host special events to invite the arts community of Columbia MO into The Warehouse Studios. Open Houses and Workshops are just a few of our plans to get Columbia's artists and art lovers involved in The Warehouse Studios.

Stage 4: Advanced Open Studio Memberships
Our future plans for open art studios include a large pottery/sculpture room and a photography studio/darkroom. When we get to this point in our development, we will re-evaluate open studio membership pricing. At this time, we cannot predict the price increase, but we can promise it will be less than other options in town. We receive assistance from generous donations and will be applying for grants to help alleviate some of our costs.
